About the work

This painting depicts a feast or a Moroccan magaribar (or maghribi ) orgy in progress. Deep, sumptuous and warm greys dominate the palette with accents of orange that punctuate the scene. The work depicts the energy and tensions between two people, between the beautiful and grotesque, and it is this moment in time where the unknown reigns. The work has an onyx stained walnut frame that contains the rich layering of colours and elaborate vignette.
