La Musa is a stylized portrait of a young woman from Guadalajara and depicts the tranquility of the barrio of Zapopan within a busy urban environment. Andrew Lewis utilizes a muted palette to contrast the vibrancy of the culture with the serenity of the figure. The buzzing and intense urban neighbourhoods of México are the context for this moment of calm and control that this muse promises the viewer.
